  • December 3, 1912: The Balkan League (excluding Greece) and the Ottoman Empire signed an armistice at Çatalca, temporarily halting the First Balkan War. The armistice expired on February 3, 1913, and hostilities resumed.
  • December 18, 1912: Piltdown Man, initially believed to be an early human fossil, was presented to the Geological Society of London. It was later revealed to be a hoax in 1953.
