Zwelini Lawrence Mkhize, born on February 2, 1956, in Willowfontein, is a South African doctor and former politician. He served as the fifth premier of KwaZulu-Natal from May 6, 2009, to September 1, 2013, before being succeeded by Senzo Mchunu. In late February 2018, President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed him as the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. He then became the national Minister of Health on May 30, 2019, succeeding Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi.
