Zuiei Itō was a Japanese scholar of Buddhist studies and a priest of the Nichiren sect. He was born on May 20, 1942, and served as an esteemed professor at Rissho University, where he was an honorary professor in the Faculty of Buddhist Studies and the head of the Graduate School of Letters. Itō was also the 104th chief abbot of the Honkō-ji temple, a prominent temple of the Nichiren sect. His Dharma name was Sara-in Nichiji, reflecting his significant contributions to the study and practice of Buddhism in Japan.
