Zhanna Arshanskaya Dawson was a Russian-American pianist and Holocaust survivor, born on April 1, 1927. She was a faculty member at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Dawson gained national attention in 2009 due to the publication of her son's book, 'Hiding in the Spotlight', which details her experiences during the Holocaust. In 2022, a middle-grade book about her story, titled 'Alias Anna: A True Story of Outwitting the Nazis', co-authored by Susan Hood and Greg Dawson, was published.
