Zhang Geng (January 22, 1911 - September 27, 2003) was a prominent Chinese scholar and drama theorist from Changsha, Hunan. He served as the vice president of the Central Academy of Drama and the president of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Opera. A member of the Chinese Communist Party since 1934, he contributed significantly to leftist theatrical movements. His notable works include 'Introduction to Drama' and 'Collected Essays on Drama'. He passed away in Beijing in 2003.
