Zdenek Felix is a Czech art theorist, art critic, and curator of contemporary art born on April 30, 1938, in Český Brod. After emigrating to Switzerland in August 1968, he worked as an assistant to Harald Szeemann. He later became a curator in Essen and served as the director of Kunstverein in Munich. From 1991 to 2003, he directed the Deichtorhallen exhibition complex in Hamburg, which became one of the ten most recognized exhibition institutions in Europe during his tenure. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
