Yvonne Lanauze, born Eve Smith around 1927, is an American jazz singer known for her work in the early 1950s with Duke Ellington's Orchestra, where she was the only female member. She sang on Ellington's first LP, 'Masterpieces by Ellington', after he heard her in a club in Washington D.C. Tiring of touring, she moved to Canada, performing in bars and on CBC Radio. Lanauze returned to music in the mid-1970s in Vancouver, where she led her own trio. She actively participated in the civil rights movement in the 1960s and currently resides in a care home, occasionally singing for residents.
