Yutaka Hirata (November 14, 1910 - September 23, 1993) was a Japanese historian of Western science, known for his research on ancient Greek science and technology. He contributed to the study of the history of science in Japan through translations of Western scientific literature. Hirata was a professor emeritus at Waseda University and served as the president of the Japan Society for the History of Science, which he helped to establish.
