Yury Dmitrievich Popoykov (born February 23, 1935) was a Soviet and Russian journalist, writer, and poet. He served as the secretary of the Bashkortostan regional committee of Komsomol from 1966 to 1968. Popoykov is known for his numerous short stories, novellas, novels, and poetry collections. He also held the position of the first deputy director-general of ITAR-TASS. He was honored as an esteemed cultural worker of the RSFSR in 1985 and of Bashkortostan in 1995.
