Yrsa Sigurðardóttir is an Icelandic author born on August 24, 1963. She completed high school in 1983 and studied civil engineering at the University of Iceland, graduating with a BSc in 1988, later obtaining her master's degree at Concordia University. She lives in Seltjarnarnes near Reykjavik with her husband and two children. Since 1998, she has published five children's books and her first crime novel in 2005. She publishes one work annually in the crime genre, with translations in several languages including German, Swedish, Norwegian, English, and Polish.
