Ype Höweler was a Dutch organist and carillonneur born on August 2, 1914, in Amsterdam. He trained at the Amsterdam Conservatorium and worked as a music collaborator for AVRO, eventually becoming head of the serious music department. He also served as city carillonneur for the Oude Kerk and was active in composing music. Höweler led the Dutch Carillon Association from 1972 to 1978 but had to step back due to illness. He is known for a limited number of compositions and was a public servant within the municipality.
