Yoshinotani Akitoshi was a Japanese sumo wrestler born on April 23, 1949. He began his professional career in May 1965 and reached the top division in January 1974. Despite a struggle with an elbow injury, he achieved a highest rank of maegashira 4. He was notable for being one of the smallest sekitori, weighing less than 100kg. His most significant achievements include winning the jūryō division championship in September 1973 and defeating future ōzeki Asashio in May 1978. He retired in May 1982 and served as Onaruto-oyakata until his death in January 2000.
