Yoshifusa Amano was a Japanese military officer, serving in the Imperial Japanese Army and later in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. He achieved the rank of Colonel in the army and became a Lieutenant General in the Ground Self-Defense Force. Amano was notable for being the 6th Chief of Staff of the Ground Self-Defense Force and the 3rd Chairman of the Joint Staff Council. His son, Yoshiharu Amano, held the position of the 26th Western Army Commander.
