Yoshichika Ōnuki (born September 1, 1947) is a Japanese physicist and emeritus professor at Osaka University. He is the leader of the COE program 'New Fundamental Science of Ultimate and Integration' and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1976. Ōnuki specializes in condensed matter physics, particularly experimental research on heavy electron systems. His notable achievement includes the discovery of CeCu6, a material that exhibits a unique characteristic of decreasing electrical resistance at extremely low temperatures, contrasting typical results seen in existing magnetic materials.
