Yorifusa Ishita (1932 - November 4, 2015) was a Japanese urban planning scholar and professor emeritus at Tokyo Metropolitan University. He was an expert in land use planning and urban planning history. His doctoral thesis addressed issues in the green belt concept used in the first metropolitan area development plan, which was modeled after the Greater London Plan, providing theoretical underpinnings for urbanization within designated areas in Japan. His contributions earned him the Architectural Institute of Japan's Prize in 2004.
