Ying Chongfu, also known as C. F. Ying, was a prominent Chinese acoustical physicist born on June 15, 1918, and passed away on June 30, 2011. He is noted for pioneering ultrasonics research in China, with specializations in various areas including ultrasonic piezoelectric transducers and laser ultrasound. Ying was an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as the inaugural Chairman of the Acoustical Society of China. Additionally, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal Applied Acoustics.
