Ye Duzheng was a prominent Chinese meteorologist and a respected member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Born on February 21, 1916, in Anqing, Anhui province, he is renowned for founding the field of atmospheric physics in China. Over his distinguished career, he made significant contributions to meteorology and climate science. In recognition of his invaluable work, he received the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, the highest scientific honor in China, from President Hu Jintao in 2005. Ye Duzheng passed away on October 16, 2013.
