Yasusaburō Tan (August 23, 1925 - September 10, 2015) was a Japanese orthopedic surgeon. In 1961, during a polio outbreak in Akabira, Hokkaido, he played a pivotal role in founding the Akabira Parents' Association, aimed at supporting children with severe physical and mental disabilities. Tan continued to be a central figure in this organization for over 50 years, showcasing his dedication to improving the lives of disabled individuals and their families.
