Yasuo Shizume (November 27, 1925 - July 28, 2011) was a Japanese physicist and critic. Born in Tokyo (now Shinjuku), he was the brother of Kazuo Shizume. He graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Science in 1947, majoring in Physics. Shizume specialized in the history of scientific thought and was known for translating and introducing Norbert Wiener, as well as writing philosophical critiques on life.
