Yan Calmeyer Friis, born on August 13, 1952, is a multifaceted Norwegian comedian, writer, music journalist, and radio host. His career began at the Arbeiderbladet newspaper, followed by a position at the youth magazine Det Nye, where he made a name as a music writer. He has contributed to Vi Menn magazine since 1993 and co-hosted the radio show Herreavdelingen since 1996. Friis co-founded Saranya Forlag in 2003 and published several books, including a thriller and works about music. In 2007, he was a candidate for the Coastal Party in local elections.
