Yamamotoyama Ryūta, born Ryūichi Yamamoto on May 8, 1984, is a retired Japanese sumo wrestler from Saitama. He debuted in January 2007, reaching the top makuuchi division by January 2009, achieving the rank of maegashira 9. Notably, he is the heaviest Japanese-born sumo wrestler in history at 265 kg (584 lb). Following a match-fixing scandal, he was ordered to retire in 2011. Currently, he lives in Los Angeles, participates in sumo exhibitions, amateur tournaments, and has appeared on various television shows and commercials.
