Xesús Manuel Vega Buxán, born in 1951 in Tuiriz-Pantón, Lugo, is a Galician economist and politician. He graduated in economic sciences from the University of the Basque Country and serves as a professor at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela. Active in politics, he was a leader of the Galician Communist Movement (MCG) in the early 1970s, participated in the Council of Galician Political Forces in 1976, and helped form Inzar in 1991. He was elected deputy for A Coruña in the Galician Parliament in 1993, 1997, and 2001.
