Sir Wylie McKissock, OBE (1906-1994) was a prominent British neurosurgeon known for establishing the neurosurgical unit at Atkinson Morley Hospital and being the country's most prolific lobotomist. He was born in Staines, Surrey, studied at King's College London, and began his medical career at several notable hospitals. McKissock developed psychosurgery techniques, including rostral leucotomy. He served as president of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and was knighted in 1971. Following retirement, he lived in Scotland and later Brighton. He had three children with his wife, Rachel Jones.
