Wu Xiuquan was a Chinese communist revolutionary, military officer, and diplomat born in March 1908 and passed away on November 9, 1997. He studied in the Soviet Union, joined the Chinese Red Army, and participated in the Long March. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, he served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the first ambassador of China to Yugoslavia, and the Deputy Minister of International Liaison for the Communist Party of China. He was imprisoned for eight years during the Cultural Revolution and later became Deputy Chief of Staff of the People's Liberation Army in 1975.
