Wu Jian was a cultural worker and political figure from Mengxian, Henan, born on May 27, 1920. He served as the former propaganda minister of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the former vice chairman of the Gansu Provincial People's Congress. Wu was also the chief advisor of the Dunhuang Academy. He passed away on January 20, 2008.
