Wŏn-su Yi (이원수) was a South Korean children's literature writer and poet born on January 5, 1912. He was the fifth of seven siblings and spent his early years in Yangsan-eup before moving to Masan at the age of eight months. Yi's literary contributions are significant in the realm of children's literature in South Korea, and he wrote under the pen name Dong-won (동원). He passed away on January 24, 1981.
