Wojciech Piotr Murdzek is a Polish politician born on December 13, 1957, in Świdnica. He has served as Minister of Science and Higher Education since April 2020. Murdzek was the president of Świdnica from 2002 to 2014 and has been a member of the Sejm, representing Law and Justice. With a background in economics from Wrocław Polytechnic, he has held various positions including town council vice president and starost of Świdnica powiat. He is married to Annette, a German national, and has two children.
