He served as Minister Plenipotentiary from April 1, 1974, until independence on November 25, 1975. Following this, he became the first Ambassador of Suriname to the Netherlands, where he served until May 20, 1980. His contributions to diplomacy and education were influential during a critical period in Suriname's history.
