William Ralph Brody is an American radiologist and academic administrator. He is known for serving as the president of the Salk Institute and is a former president of Johns Hopkins University. Brody earned his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and he obtained his MD and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco in 1977 and was a faculty member at Stanford University from 1977 to 1986. He was elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2003.
