In 1947, he made a single first-class appearance for Scotland against Ireland, serving as a wicket-keeper. In this match, he did not score in the first innings and made 10 runs in the second. Alongside his cricket career, McNab was a manager in the insurance industry. He passed away on November 19, 1989, in Edinburgh.
