Walter Sorrells is an American author known for his mystery and suspense novels targeted at both adults and teens. He writes under the pseudonyms Lynn Abercrombie and Ruth Birmingham. In addition to writing, he is skilled in hand-forging swords and knives in the Japanese style. Notable works include the mystery novel Fake I.D., which was recognized as one of the Best Mysteries of 2005 by Booklist. His book Fulton County Blues earned the 2000 Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Paperback Original.
