Walter L. "Skip" Sharp is a retired United States Army Four-Star General, born on September 27, 1952, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He last served as Commander of United Nations Command and Combined Forces Command in South Korea from June 3, 2008, to July 14, 2011. Previously, he held the position of Director of Joint Staff from 2005 to June 2008. Sharp played significant roles in various military operations including Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and supported democracy in Haiti.
