W. Ralph Eubanks is an American author, essayist, journalist, and professor born on June 25, 1957. His literary focus includes race, identity, and the culture of the American South. He served as Director of Publishing at the Library of Congress from 1995 to 2013 and later became the editor of the Virginia Quarterly Review. Eubanks was honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship for his memoir, 'Ever Is a Long Time,' recognized as a significant nonfiction work. As of May 2021, he is a fellow at Harvard University's Radcliffe Institute.
