William Hamilton Canaway (1925 – 22 May 1988) was a British author known for his adventure novels that often incorporated elements of natural history and a passion for the outdoors. Born in Altrincham, Cheshire, he gained recognition for his 1961 novel 'Sammy Going South', which was adapted into a film in 1963. Additionally, as Bill Canaway, he contributed to the screenplay for the 1965 film adaptation of Len Deighton's 'The IPCRESS File'. His works reflect a blend of adventure and environmental themes.
