Voldemar Nurmela was an Estonian jurist born on December 16, 1915, in Võrumaa. He served in the Red Army during World War II, initially in the 788th construction battalion in Sverdlovsk Oblast and later with the Estonian Corps. From 1957 to 1977, he was a member of the Supreme Court of the Estonian SSR. He passed away on May 19, 2006, in Tallinn and was buried at Pärnamäe cemetery.
