Vojtech Filkorn was a Slovak logician and university professor, born on April 8, 1922, in Pravenec and passed away on April 14, 2009, in Bratislava. He was recognized as the founder of Slovak exact methodology and was a key figure in the Bratislava philosophical and methodological school. His areas of specialization included the theory of science, methodology of sciences, and the structure and development of logic as influenced by the history of natural sciences. He served as rector of Comenius University from 1963 to 1966.
