Vladimir Ivanovich Petrov (October 10, 1937 – June 7, 2023) was a Soviet and Russian scientist in forestry. His primary research focused on managing the natural-resource potential of arid ecosystem using forest melioration methods. He held a Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences (1990), became a Professor (2000), and was an academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1995) and the Russian Academy of Sciences (2013). Petrov authored over 240 scientific works and received the USSR State Prize in Technology in 1986.
