Vladimir Vasilyevich Ilin was a Soviet and Russian cinematographer born on March 20, 1938, in Saransk and passed away on April 2, 2006, in Saint Petersburg. He was honored as a Distinguished Artist of the Russian Federation in 1994 and won the USSR State Prize in 1986. Ilin was also a two-time laureate of the Nika Award, receiving it in 2000 and 2015.
