Vladimir Chernyshov was a Russian volleyball player born on June 21, 1951, in Potxinok. He competed for the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s, winning a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and a gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. His achievements include a gold medal at the 1978 World Championship and a silver in 1974, plus multiple European Championship golds. He played for Burevestnik/MVTU in Moscow until 1983 and later joined clubs in Bulgaria and Italy. He passed away on May 1, 2004, in Padua.
