Vivian Burey Marshall, known as Buster, was an American civil rights activist born on February 11, 1911, in Philadelphia. She married Thurgood Marshall in 1929. Throughout her life, she supported civil rights efforts alongside her husband, who was instrumental in the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case. Despite facing personal challenges, including health issues and miscarriages, she was a significant influence in the civil rights movement. She passed away on her 44th birthday, February 11, 1955, after a battle with lung cancer.
