Vittorio Vialli was an Italian paleontologist born on February 1, 1914, in Cles. He was captured by the Germans on September 8, 1943, at Isthmia, in the Corinth Canal, and managed to take over 400 clandestine photographs as an Italian military internees in various camps in Poland and Germany. After the war, he became a university professor specializing in geography, geology, and paleontology. Vialli significantly contributed to his field until his passing on February 5, 1983, in Bologna.
