Her debut collection, 'Tryghedsnarkomaner' (1977), was one of the first lyric works in Danish to utilize the form of knækprosa. Her short story collection, 'Hold Kæft og vær smuk' (1978), gained significant media attention for its impressive sales exceeding 125,000 copies and its portrayal of modern women's lives. Andersen's works have been translated into several languages, and she received numerous awards, including 'Boghandlernes Gyldne Laurbær' in 1979.
