Viktor Pavlovich Chelyapov (January 25, 1952 – November 17, 2008) was a Russian archaeologist and candidate of historical sciences, recognized as a specialist in the archaeological and cultural monuments of the Ryazan region. He served as an honorary local historian of the Ryazhsk district and was a member of the Society of Researchers of the History of the Ryazhsk Region named after V.I. Garetovsky. Chelyapov contributed to the multivolume 'Ryazan Encyclopedia' and authored over 500 scientific works.
