Vigon, born Mahssen Abdel Ghafour on July 13, 1945, in Rabat, Morocco, is a renowned Moroccan singer known for his rhythm and blues and soul music during the mid-1960s. He collaborated with many global artists, including Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, and Jimi Hendrix, as well as the French producer Munir Belkhir. Vigon is also the father of Moroccan singer Sofia Gons, who passed away in 2011 due to a pulmonary embolism. He was honored with a royal medal on the 50th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's birthday.
