Vigdis Holen is a Norwegian visual artist and professor born on August 2, 1954, in Kvam in Gudbrandsdalen. She holds degrees in philosophy, ecology, and art education from the universities in Oslo and Trondheim. Holen is also diplomatically qualified in graphic design, book art, and art graphics from the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo. She studied at the Academy of Art in Trondheim and the National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo for four years, and she has undergone research training in the Ph.D. program at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
