Victor A. Vyssotsky (February 26, 1931 – December 24, 2012) was a mathematician and computer scientist. He was the son of Alexander N. Vyssotsky and mathematician Emma T. R. Williams, who inspired the naming of asteroid Vyssotsky 1600. He contributed to the Multics project alongside Robert Morris Sr. and Douglas McIlroy, which resulted in the creation of the game Darwin, where multiple computer programs compete. Although the Multics project was not highly successful, it influenced Ken Thompson's development of UNIX.
