Verna Patronella Johnston (1909-1996) was an Ojibway and Potawatomi author and community activist. She dedicated her life to helping Indigenous youth in Toronto pursue secondary and post-secondary education from the 1960s to the 1980s. Through her efforts, she became a significant leader in the urban Indigenous community, mentoring and supporting young people in their educational journeys.
