Azat Vergazov is a Tatar writer, television editor, and a member of the USSR Writers' Union, born on March 8, 1932, in the village of Kırnavar, Penza Oblast. He later moved to the village of Oly Karaguzha, where he completed his schooling. After attending Kazan Pedagogical Institute and serving in the army, he worked in education and became a senior editor at Kazan Television Studio in 1974. His literary works gained recognition in the late 1960s, particularly through his novellas such as 'What Do the Waves Say?', 'Flood', and 'Awakening'.
