Velizar Enchev is a Bulgarian diplomat, university lecturer, journalist, and former intelligence officer. He served in the First Main Directorate of State Security from 1985 to 1989 and in the National Intelligence Service from 1990 to 1996. After the political changes in 1989, he became active in politics. In autumn 2014, he was elected to the parliament from the NFSB party. He became an independent deputy shortly after his election, criticizing the coalition's leadership for betraying party promises and supporting anti-social policies.
