Over decades, he forged hundreds of works from artists like Akseli Gallen-Kallela and Helene Schjerfbeck, with his most productive period being 2008-2013. Seppä confessed to nearly 200 forgeries after being apprehended in 2014. Diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011, he passed away in 2022. A documentary about him was produced, highlighting his life and crimes.
